As the Paris Center Director, Melissa leads a multinational team of administrative staff and faculty, and is responsible for the management and administration of many different styles of programs including direct enrollment programs, island programs and hybrid programs for both undergraduate and graduate students. Originally from New York, Melissa has worked with Ray Vernon since 1989. She has been the ACCENT Paris Center Director since 1998. Having studied with SUNY in Paris in 1986, Melissa returned to France in 1987 and made the City of Light her home.
Senior Programs Coordinator
Adrien works in the ACCENT Paris Study Center as the Senior Programs Coordinator. In this position, he aids the Paris Center Director with the daily management of the ACCENT Paris Study Center and the front office team as well as the many and varied programs that come through our doors. Adrien also organizes the classes held at ACCENT Paris, takes care of student enrollment at the Sorbonne and the Institut Catholique, and liaises with other partner institutions such as Novancia and the ESCP. He also works with ACCENT’s MBA students and special programs. He graduated in English and German from the Sorbonne and enjoys sharing French culture with the students, as well as encouraging them to discover France.
Cultural Activities Coordinator/Excursion Leader
Mirek works in the ACCENT Paris Study Center as the Cultural Activities Coordinator. In this position, he oversees all aspects of visits and excursions in and outside of Paris. As a guide conférencier, he also guides Paris groups through places such as the Château de Versailles, various museums in Paris, the famous Palais Garnier, or in French towns such as St. Malo, Avignon, or Dijon. Mirek is very familiar with study abroad as he has studied in many cities including Warsaw, Lille, Paris, New York City, and Edinburgh.
As Programs Coordinator Audrey is in charge of student and faculty housing as well as works at the front desk with the front desk team. Audrey has been working in exchange programs and study abroad for five years. She was an English and translation major from Sorbonne Nouvelle and studied abroad in Ireland, Galway where she lived for 11 months and passed her first certificate of Cambridge. Audrey loves American culture and is passionate about the world and how rich it is. She loves reading, walking and painting.
In her position of Homestay Coordinator, Corinne plays a key role when it comes to enhancing our students’ experience abroad and immersion into the French culture. A former host mom herself, she fully understands all the challenges that living with people from another culture can present and strives to find the best possible placement for each student by taking their wishes into great consideration. Corinne’s experience in the field, her love for traveling and her cultural sensitivity allow her to help the students smoothly adapt to their new Parisian homes – so much so that some of them find it really hard to leave what they have come to consider their second family!
Assistant Programs Coordinator
As Assistant Programs Coordinator, Marion works at the front office and helps the students in their daily Parisian life. She is also in charge of the evening cultural activities and social media. She holds two Master’s degrees, one in Cultural Tourism from the Sorbonne Nouvelle and the other in Media and Cultural studies from the University of Lyon 3. Always curious about other cultures, she loves sharing with the students and talking about their French experiences. She also enjoys eating, going on long walks around Paris and visiting museums.
As an intern at the ACCENT Paris Study Center, Magdalena assists Mirek in the coordination of cultural activities. She’s currently pursuing a Master’s degree of Cultural Tourism at Sorbonne Nouvelle. Originally from Athens, Greece, Magdalena has experienced student life in Paris, as she holds two Erasmus exchange scholarships at Sorbonne and at School of Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences. Fascinated by the Parisian life, Magdalena enjoys visiting art exhibitions and taking evening strolls along the banks of the river Seine.
A native Muscovite, Maria has always been fascinated by different cultures and has wanted to learn other languages in order to communicate with people from around the world from a very early age on. She very naturally chose to major in English linguistics and translation and graduated from Moscow State University. After she fell in love with the French language during a trip to France, she decided to study Tourism in the University of Angers, where she is pursuing a second Master’s Degree. She is very excited to be part of the ACCENT team as an intern and to be able to interact with students on a daily basis, as well as working in such a rich intercultural environment.
Maëla joined the ACCENT Paris Study Center as she enjoys meeting people from other countries and sharing her culture. She grew up in Brittany in a multicultural environment and loves traveling around the world, which led her to partake in a three-month exchange in Germany and more recently, to go to Czech Republic as part of a European strategic partnership. Maëla is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Foreign Languages, in which she learns English, German and Spanish. She loves music, football, taking part in events of every kind and is very excited to discover the Parisian life, as well as being part of the ACCENT Paris team.
