| The ACCENT Madrid Center is first and foremost an information and resource center where students and faculty can stop in to ask questions, to request academic information and class schedules, and to collect their mail. |
CLASSROOMS Classes are held at either the local ACCENT partner institution or in the Instituto Internacional where the ACCENT Madrid Center is located. |
BULLETIN BOARDS In the ACCENT Madrid Center, bulletin boards provide information about various happenings around Madrid: art exhibits, concerts, Spanish-American activities, sports activities, as well as special events taking place throughout Spain. |
CULTURAL AND EVENING ACTIVITIES Students take part in a cultural activity series that includes theater performances, concerts, movies, lectures, cultural events and special walking tours, allowing them to better take advantage of life in Madrid and to improve their understanding of Spanish culture. |
LIBRARIES Students have access to the extensive Instituto Internacional library within the same building as the Madrid Center. The ACCENT Madrid Center also maintains its own lending library with numerous travel guides (Let's Go, Lonely Planet, Berkeley, etc.), reference books on history, art history and theater, works of literature, as well as Spanish and American newspapers and periodicals. Madrid also has a number of public libraries that students may use if they have need of additional resources. |
COMPUTER ACCESS Students with personal laptops have access to DSL network connections and wireless connectivity throughout the Instituto Internacional. Students without a laptop can borrow one from ACCENT Madrid Center for limited use within the Instituto Internacional. |
TRAVEL INFORMATION The ACCENT Madrid Center can provide students with information on travel outside of Madrid, including the location of student travel agencies, train and bus schedules, special student travel fares and railpass information. |
