Paris Housing
Students on an ACCENT program in Paris may be placed in a student residence, apartment, or in a Parisian home. Housing options vary by program.
Student Residences
Student residences are located throughout Paris, within a short walk or metro ride of the ACCENT Paris Center. ACCENT students in Paris may stay in triple, double, or single studios within a student residence, located in the 12th arrondissement. Students in double studios are housed with another ACCENT program participant.
All studios are furnished with the necessities: bed(s), linens, desk(s), closet, telephone, small kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator, hot plate, as well as silverware and dishware. Each studio has its own small bathroom and shower.
Cité Universitaire
Many ACCENT students live in residences (called maisons) at the Cité Universitaire, located in the 14th arrondissement in the southern part of Paris. Both single and double rooms are available. All rooms have beds, linens, closets, desks, and telephones, and most of the double rooms have sinks, though bathrooms and shower facilities are shared by everyone on the floor. Student residences also include laundry facilities and either a cafeteria or shared kitchenette. In the summer months, single rooms with their own small bathroom and shower are sometimes available.
Homestays
Homestays give students the opportunity to observe firsthand how the French live. Many homestay students feel the experience greatly improves their linguistic ability and increases their level of cultural understanding. Students considering homestays may find it helpful to have some previous knowledge of the French language. Students staying with families will have some meals provided and limited access to the kitchen. Homestays have varying commutes to classes of 15 to 55 minutes walking and by metro.
Student Apartments
Students stay with other ACCENT program participants in double rooms in multiple-bedroom student apartments in and around the center of Paris. Rooms in student apartments are furnished with a bed, closet or armoire, an area for toiletries, and linens. Kitchen facilities include a small stove, refrigerator, dishes, and basic cooking utensils.
Citadines
The Citadines Apart’hotels are air-conditioned, three-star accommodations for two to four people. Each apartment has a bathroom and a fully equipped kitchenette, and comes with linens, a TV, a telephone, and free Internet.
FIAP
The FIAP is a residence located in Paris’ 14th arrondissement between the Place Denfert Rochereau and the Place d’Italie. It has rooms for one and two people, each with a private bathroom. The FIAP features a 24-hour reception desk, wireless Internet, conference/classroom spaces, and several dining options, including a café.
