As the ACCENT Madrid Center Director, Victor works behind the scenes well in advance of student arrival and then during the program to make sure that each and every program and student experience is unique and exceptional. Born and raised in Habana, Cuba, Victor has lived and studied in Cuba, the United States and Spain, his beloved adopted land. A graduate of Skidmore College, his junior year abroad at the Autonomous University of Madrid was the catalyst for his choice of profession within the study abroad sector.

Programs Coordinator

As Programs Coordinator, Vanessa is responsible for designing the different aspects of the programs and assisting students and faculty before and during their stay in Madrid. Vanessa was born and raised in Valencia, Spain, and she always had a special interest in the study of different languages and their cultures. She holds degrees from the Universitat de Valéncia (BA in English), Northwestern State University of Louisiana (MA in English), and Texas Tech University (PhD in Spanish). She was also an Erasmus student at the University of Sheffield in the UK and a study abroad student in the USA where she completed her graduate studies. Indeed, these experiences as an international student have allowed her to relate better to the students' experiences, to understand the intricacies of studying abroad, and to provide more accurate personalized advice on personal and/or academic issues.

Programs Coordinator

Carlos shares his duties in ACCENT Madrid as Programs Coordinator with Vanessa Rodriguez, he is in charge of supporting the students in their day to day lives in Madrid and assuring they get the best of their study abroad experience. Carlos has two Bachelor degrees in Spanish and Portuguese from the Universidad de Córdoba and the Universidad de Granada respectively, he has studied and lived in Portugal and Germany where he was a Teacher’s Assistant. Recently, Carlos worked as a Coordinator for the Middlebury College program in Madrid, and as an IBO Coordinator of an international school in Malaga. He loves biking, hiking, writing, reading and... chocolate. He knows a lot about cultural and leisure options in Madrid and is a great resource for getting integrated into the city!
